Other Comments: For the average person, it does everything it is supposed to do without any glitches. For a real audio pro, you could do better. Very well suited for me as I like the simplicity of having everything in one unit and it gives me the opportunity to do some recording too. (Now I dont have to mess with all the individual pieces of stereo equipment and the wires.) The built-in speakers are adequate, but not high quality; there are however, output jacks to plug it into speakers of your choice.
As others have said, the record player is a little on the chintzy side, however, it does the job. The instructions could be better, especially for trying to use the USB connection with Audacity. It took me several hours to understand it and figure it out. Audacity is a great program (I have used it in the past) but it can be a little intimidating for a first time user. Once you figure it out though, it is great. On the negative side, there is no automatic "stop recording" in Audacity (that I am aware of), so you have to be present to manually stop it. The turntable stops and turns off at the end of a record, but the software keeps on recording.
Reliability: Had it a couple of weeks and recorded several albums and it has performed flawlessly. Time will tell after it gets more use.
As long as you are not looking for professional quality and features, I think it has a lot to offer for the cost. I am completely satisfied so far.
