Review submitted for Cuisinart Elite Collection 7-Cup Food Processor - Brushed Chrome (CUIMFP107BC)
Pros: Powerful
Cons: Needs A Bigger Bowl, Zero Parts Availability
Other Comments: I purchased this model based on a Consumer Reports recommendation. I really liked the way this processor performed, both with the chopper blade and with the slicing attachment. However, I screwed up and damaged the lid and blade and after an extensive internet search could find no replacement parts available. With my old food processor-also a Cuisinart, but an economy model-I would use the slicing attachment to cut up an entire head of cauliflower. The first time I tried that with this one things went badly. When I added the last floret, without realizing it, I pushed the bowl's capacity to the limit. Apparently the overfilled contents of the bowl flexed the blade upward just enough that it caught the underside of the cover, tearing it to pieces. I searched both Cuisinart's website and the internet in general and found that replacement parts are only available for certain models-this one not included. I fully admit that the failure was my fault-I should have looked to see how much room I had left-but if it is that easy to accidently destroy the thing, repair parts should be readily available. So, if you buy one and are careful not to slice a whole head's worth of cauliflower at once, you will be happy. Since I am forced to buy another processor now, I will be looking at a different one. One with either slightly more capacity, or one with available replacement parts.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product
