Other Comments: I bought this machine after reading extensive reviews, getting a feel for it from friends who already had it and comparing it to others in it's class (which are not many). To be honest, considering who now owns the company, I was leery of going in this direction, but after checking further much of the original staff was retained. I could have bought the higher end model, but found, concerning performance and throughput, there really was not much difference for my needs. I play a number of on-line MMORPG's and create/edit video for various clients and personal projects. I set this laptop up at a client's studio and people notice. It feels solid and reassuring like it could sink a pirate ship. It is not a travel system, at least on a regular basis, as it is very heavy and has a very short battery life. It does get hot, even with exceptional vents and fans, so you definitely need to keep a generous amount of air or additional cooling between the bottom of the case and the surface it is sitting on. Under heavy usage it could just fry an egg under there, so, I always have my laptop cooler pad under it: I never leave home without it.
