Other Comments: This coffee maker has several fatal problems. 1) Can't pour the first 3 cups from the carafe without dripping all over. 2) The carafe lid is not removeable and only tips back part way which makes cleaning difficult. Who thought this was a good idea? How can a company make a carafe that is absolutely perfect, and then "improve" their design to this thing that is useless. 3) The permanent type filter passes too much sediment through to the finished coffee. 4) I Have not been able to locate paper filters that fit as they are all too small.

Other Comments: being a 14 cup brewer, you have to experiment to get good tasting coffee if you use different brands/types of coffee. If you use the supplied measure with included measurement instructions, your coffee will allow a telephone pole to stand straight up in it. I found that 7-8 measures made a good tasting coffee, not 14 measures

Other Comments: The carafe lid can't be removed for washing--very awkward for placing in dishwasher or for handwashing. Water level indicator is on the side. If you use a filter pitcher to fill (as I do), you still have to pull the unit out from under cabinet. Unit shuts off after 2 hrs. I get up at 5:30 and my husband isn't up until 9:00, so coffee is cold by the time he gets up. I like the shut-off, but it would be nice if it could be overridden.
