Other Comments: I enjoyed using the T4i on my most recent trip and its my favorite of the rebel series. Family/friends have been awed by its capabilities and my Nikon lover/owner friend drooled over this camera. I like the touch screen capabilities, although I find myself using the buttons more often than the screen out of habit. The flipout is the best feature with the screen. The auto-focus in video mode is a semi-joke. I found it continually hunting (trying to find a focus) in med-low light situations and never staying in one spot for long. With regards to the 40mm, its nice, but I prefer my 50mm f1.4 over it and so it saw little action time. I did use it for its light-weight and small carrying size. The image is clear and sharp and gets a wider view than the 50mm. If you don't have a 50mm, this is a great lense and competes well with the 50mm f1.8. All in all I would recommend the T4i, but not the 40mm, unless you had a specific purpose for it, like you don't have a 50mm or find the 50mm is too close on the 1.6 crop sensor. The autofocus is quick with the 40mm, but I rarely used it. The rest of the kit is ok. The bag feels cheap and I don't care to use it. The other things there are non-essential, but you can have them if you want. The SD card is great and already formatted for large file recording.

Other Comments: I moved from the G11 to the T2i and now the T4i. Enjoyed Canon products throughout my life. Mostly a camera hobbyist, I have been reading and improving my skills all the time. Just returned from Safari in Africa, and just fantastic photos. Not a movie person, but did purchase the 40mm STM lens.
