HDR-CX455/B Full HD Handycam Camcorder with Exmor R CMOS Sensor Deluxe Bundle
(E2SNHDRCX455B)
Pros: The video camera is very light and compact. It could easily fit into a larger jacket pocket. The onscreen menu instructions are generally easy to navigate and logically setup. I have done a few test videos this past week and the quality appears satisfactory. The real test will start next week when I take the camera with me on vacation.
Cons: The photo quality is poor. The photos always had a "grainy" / "splotchy" appearance regardless of the settings I used. Not sure if this is a problem of just my camera or the the model in general. Also Sony claims 9 Mb photos. The actual photos are just 2.2Mb in size. Also the Time Lapse feature is actually a series of photos strung together, which ended up being of same poor quality when viewed on a HD TV. Viewing on a computer is more acceptable due to screen size.
Other Comments: You get what you pay for. Its a relatively inexpensive camcorder so don't expect professional quality results. Camera comes with 8GB of internal memory which is good for trying out the camera. You will need at least 32GB memory card to do any serious videoing. Also a backup battery is a good idea.
