First Curved TV Purchase

Pros: Nice color.
Cons: I have yet to be able to justify the picture to full screen - when I go to the picture sizing and attempt, it says function not available. I tried to do it manually, and it distorts the screen. I do not like to watch the shows with the two black bars.
Other Comments: It would be nice if someone could help me figure this out...I'm hoping it's not an impossibility.
