3 out of 5 stars   Difficult to use
July 04, 2014
Review submitted for Canon PowerShot SX700 HS 16.1MP HD 1080p Digital Camera Red Ultimate Kit (E4CNPSSX700HSR)
Pros: Price, zoom.
Cons: No detailed manual to use. Must log on line and register to get a detailed users manual. No clear instructions on how to download pictures from camera to computer. Wi-Fi function difficult to figure out.
Other Comments: This camera has good zoom and a large lcd screen. It's missing a touch screen.

5 out of 5 stars   Moved up from SX260 to SX700, and love it

Review submitted for Canon PowerShot SX700 HS 16.1MP HD 1080p Digital Camera Red Ultimate Kit (E4CNPSSX700HSR)
Pros: The SX700 is just slightly bigger and heavier but with the same form factor and build quality as my trusty SX260, with which I've taken tens of thousands of photos for my travel websites. Many controls and functions are identical or similar. I feared the SX700's 30x optical zoom would be difficult to use, but the distance-framing button on the side makes it easy; and the pop-up flash problem of earlier cameras in this series is gone: no more having your finger atop the flash, it can't rise, so you get a message saying you must restart the camera. With the SX700, there's a button to raise the flash, and it rises differently. The SX260 had GPS, which I never used. The SX700 has Wifi, which I do. Beach Camera had the best deal, the bonus products are useful, purchasing was easy and reliable.
Cons: The On/Off button is now to the left of the shutter/zoom control (as seen from the back of the camera), so when I turn the camera upside down and grip it to take out the SD card or battery, I inadvertently squeeze the On/Off button and turn on the camera. Gotta change the way I grip it—but after using several SX-series cameras heavily for years, that's gonna take some time...
