Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: This was purchased for an upcoming trip to Central America which will include cave-tubing, snorkeling and zip-lining. I wanted something rugged and that could be used when hiking/rockclimbing after I get back home. This WG-2 replaces my Cannon A series. I like the size and ruggedness of the WG-2. The "microscope" mode is really cool with the additional LED illumination. Some other features I like: Ability to time lapse. Auto bracketing. Auto stitching for panoramas works quite well. Overall, I'm liking this camera a lot. Haven't used it underwater yet. I really don't care about it's post pocessing abilities. Any of that would be done on my PC with better software anyway. Something that's not so great about the WG-2 is that it's not as fast to write to the SD card as I had hoped. Also, I would have liked more manual control in the "P" mode: it's a basic point and shoot with few manual controls. This does not apply to the camera: The included infra red "Remote Control" is NOT waterproof (although the outside package states it is, the fine print inside says not to submerge it) Also, it does not appear that the batteries in the remote control are user replaceable. But I have not taken it apart to confirm this. It's range is about 30 feet.

Pros: Waterproof, Clear pics, Rugged
Cons: Strap Clip Broke Day One
Other Comments: I needed to replace a camera and wanted rugged, waterproof etc as I kayak, camp, raft etc. I have only had for 2 weeks but it has been in water, on water, underwater and had been terrific. Video quality is great. Remote and count down times has been very useful. Negative is that the strab clip (Carabiner?) broke while I was rafting.

Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: I took this camera to Peru and it was exactly what I needed. I kept it clipped to my pack while hiking the Inca Trail and didn't have to worry when it started raining and everyone else was rushing to put away their cameras! It was also great around the cities and in the jungle. My only complaint is that there is no cover for the lens, so when conditions were not ideal I had to keep wiping the lens off - I guess I couldn't get it perfectly clean because after a couple weeks of use my nighttime pictures all had white spots all over them (when I used the flash - with no flash it was fine, but then you're taking pictures in the dark with no flash).

Review submitted for Pentax Optio WG-2 White GPS Waterproof 16MP Digital Camera "Ready For Adventure" Kit (E9PKOPTWG2K)
Pros: Easy to use, Compact and durable
Cons:
Other Comments: I like that the camera is waterproof and durable. It is easy to use and navigate. The one thing I would change if I could is that every time I turn on the camera it asks you to input the date and time before you can proceed to take the picture. This I find somewhat of a nuisance. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this camera for someone who is around water a lot.

Pros: Excellent Pictures, Compact, Worry free around water
Cons: Cabling rqd for upload
Other Comments: Everything is perfect with this camera. I use it when we all get together at pool parties and I never worry about it getting wet or dropped. I took this camera on a cruise and it worked great for pictures on the ship and on our excursions. It is easy to use so you can ask other folks to take your picture without any explanation. The auto setting is great and took some great pictures inside and in the rain.
