4 out of 5 stars   Nice Photo Scanner

Review submitted for Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Scanner (EPPV750MP)
Pros: Widely Compatible, Accurate Color, Excellent Software, Good Resolution, Easy To Set Up, Works on Network, Good Bit Depth
Cons: Slow
Other Comments: many scanning options. Have used it for some old slides and negatives with pretty good results. did 300+ photos they look good also. You can spend lots of time retouching individual photos and make them good as new. I want to get all my photos on a hard drive then Ill pick and choose ones worth fixing. So far not a bad scanner.

Pros: Scans large negatives
Cons:
Other Comments: I have been scanning lots of old negatives. Some are 5"x7". This will scan up to 8" x 12" or scan multiple smaller ones at once. I just lay them out and scan about nine 1.5" x 2" negatives at a time. You can preview and change contrast before scanning which makes better results. I had to buy a second piece of glass from the hardware store to lay on top of some negatives because they were curling up. This worked out great.

Review submitted for Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Scanner (EPPV750MP)
Pros: Good Resolution, Widely Compatible, Good Bit Depth
Cons:
Other Comments: Scanned hundreds of old slides and negatives, with good enough results for casual use such as sharing with friends. Restoring color on very old film worked pretty well. The included software helped improve the color. Overall MUCH better than cheap consumer products that add slide/negative scanning as an afterthought.

4 out of 5 stars   can produce good results -- with work

Review submitted for Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Scanner (EPPV750MP)
Pros:
Cons: Slow, Difficult to Keep Clean
Other Comments: This scanner is capable of producing very high quality results from sheet film, 4x5 and larger. Its realistic resolution capability is about 2400 ppi. For medium-format film, it is ok, and for 35mm not really adequate. The included Epson scan software is a disappointment, as it cannot adequately use the scanner's capabilities. The included Silverfast software (V750 only) sometimes creates a strange horizontal banding pattern in the darks, but sometimes yields the best results. VueScan software (not included) generally gives the deepest scans with the smoothest and least noisy darks, but is a little strange to work with. By using multi-pass, and/or multi-exposure, I can do a pretty good job of scanning into extremely dark transparencies--better than any outside drum scanning service has been able to do. I have not yet tried the wet-mount system, but will likely need to resort to that for 8x10 film, to keep it flat and in-focus. For the money, this is a scanner with amazing capability, when combined with user expertise and Photoshop skills. But it is not an efficient production machine and requires significant finessing and expertise to get top quality results.

Review submitted for Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Scanner (EPPV750MP)
Pros: Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible, Accurate Color
Cons: Difficult Setup
Other Comments: This is a superb scanner that offers excellent resolution, impressive photo "restoration" ability. It is a bit challenging to set up for the casual user, but my wife did manage this in my absence despite having average computer skills.

Review submitted for Epson Perfection V750-M PRO Scanner (EPPV750MP)
Pros: Good Bit Depth, Widely Compatible, Accurate Color, Excellent Software, Good Resolution
Cons: Inaccurate Scans
Other Comments: When scanning 35mm B/W negatives that are shot in low light, the scanner will occasionally crop the image, apparently not being able to discern the edge of the frame. It ends up looking like a panorama. There is also a lot of software to learn. I am running Vista & using the firewire connection. It worked perfectly out of the box. The Monaco profile software erred during installation. Their website provided the solution, which was to delete a folder in the Windows Installer directory.
