4 out of 5 stars   Colmplex but worth the time (& $$$)

Review submitted for Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR 12 MP 3 inch LCD Digital Camera (FJF300EXR)
Pros: Long zoom range, Panorama mode different, Good low light shots
Cons: Complex for point shoot
Other Comments: I am a converting 35mm semi-pro and like to keep a point & shoot with me constantly. The F300EXR is larger and heavier than the smaller Sony & Casio units I've carried, but it does quite a bit more, and quite well. It's rather complicated but can produce good results if you're patient. The Panorama mode is questionable, but it does in fact work pretty well. You have 120, 240 and 360 degree options as well as side-to-side or up-to-down. The EXR technology is very accurate and useful, particularly in the low-light / available light shots I concentrate on.

3 out of 5 stars   Hard 2 hold but good photo quality

Review submitted for Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR 12 MP 3 inch LCD Digital Camera (FJF300EXR)
Pros: Great picture quality, Easy to navigate features
Cons: Lens cover opens 2 easy, LCD scratches easily, Hard to hold bc of flash
Other Comments: Because of the flash location, it is hard to hold the camera stable. Also, the lens protector opens easily when not in use and poses a scratch hazard to the lens. Great photos though. I love Fuji point and shoot cameras, I would just recommend one without a popup style flash.

2 out of 5 stars   Bad Design
By koolbreez on October 03, 2010
Review submitted for Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR 12 MP 3 inch LCD Digital Camera (FJF300EXR)
Pros: Zoom Range, Compact Size
Cons: Short battery life, Mode dial turns in pocket, Battery level indicator, Flash is always up, Soft pictures
Other Comments: This camera has a very short battery life, so you will need at least one extra battery, and probably 2 if you take allot of pictures. The flash always stays up, and will not stay down, even when you turn the flash off. There is no latch to keep it down. It is always up, and in the way. The mode dial is at an angle, and changes when I put it in, and take it out of my pocket. It is not protected from turning. Image quality is disapointing for Fuji. Images are soft, and have to be corrected in an imaging software program to make them acceptable. There is no internal adjustments for sharpness, contrast, color, or brightness. The only image settings are to match Fuji film, Provia, Velvia, Astia, Sepia, and Black & White. Setting the mode on anything other than Velvia will produce flat colored pictures, having no vibrance. The zoom range is good, but again the pictures are soft, and at some settings have a painterly effect that is not supposed to happen. The battery charge level indicator is fine at full charge, but then goes from 3/4 charge indicated to red blinking without any level shown between those 2 indications. It does not show the battery at half charge, just full, 3/4, and blinking red. It has panarama mode, but not at full resolution. In fact many of the features are not available at full resolution. If you set the camera to silent mode, the flash is also turned off by default. I can't understand why they do this. This camera is marketed as having some impressive features, but it has too many shortfalls to recommend this camera.
