It connects to the satellite in a few seconds, and the screens are fairly simple. A novice would have no problem in learning to to use it. Even through I updated the maps, there are certain roads that are not shown.

Other Comments: Compare with Tomtom 340LM, it has several good features: first, when get to the destination, this one will show you which side of the road the destination is (I always have no idea which side of the road is the destination when using 340LM) second, more information to select to show on the screen. For example, the elevation, ... Third, the detour function is good. Forth, Garmin finally abandoned the "recalculating" function!!! However, after I updated the map, it gives several mistakes on the map and the route, which are not seen when use the old map.
