  144hz monitor By humbaba on June 17, 2016 Review submitted for LG 24GM77 24-Inch Widescreen LED-Lit Gaming Monitor (LG24GM77) Pros: Very fast monitor, can realize 1ms response Great color accuracy when set correctly (tom's hardware has a good article for this monitor) good stand with 3 axis adjustment and height Great price Cons: Screen is a bit too bright out of the box, causing eye strain. Turned brightness down. As with all IPS screens there are some uniformity issues, especially when viewing at angles. Other Comments: Apparently LG discontinued production of this monitor as of writing, so get it while it's around. It's a great monitor if you can live without adaptive sync. Verified Purchase Review submitted for LG 24GM77 24-Inch Widescreen LED-Lit Gaming Monitor (LG24GM77) Pros: -144Hz Refresh -240Hz Motion - This enables the 1ms response time, though you have to be on 100 or 120Hz refresh -Easy to maneuver menu once you figure out the joystick -Games are super smooth now Cons: Not really a con, but I just got this today and set it up, so I don't have a long term thought on the monitor. Couldn't buy 2 Other Comments: Going from a 1080p 60Hz monitor to this thing has been amazing. I have put it through a gauntlet of games to test the refresh rate and have been blown away with the difference. Many people say they can't see it, but it is day and night for me. Games I have tested and seen a vast difference include: Battlefield 4, Thief, Borderlands 2, CS: GO, Arma 3, Elite: Dangerous, and Grand Theft Auto V. While some of the more demanding games didn't have a noticeable difference from an FPS standpoint (will once I get a 2nd GPU), the 1ms response time and the 240Hz Motion feature make the overall gameplay smoother. I no longer have screen tearing on any of my games, which I always had with my old monitor.
