The exterior design and slimness are attractive. Colors are vibrant and the 600Hz refresh is great for fast action (like computer games). However, there are a few things that I am not happy about. First off, the "zoom" feature actually stretches the video up & down, so if I am watching a letterbox DVD that has the black bars at the top & bottom, the picture will be distorted when I zoom it to fill the screen (people's faces look too fat/skinny, etc.). Also, the black level is not as deep as I thought. This is my first plasma, so maybe I had too high of expectations. Don't get me wrong, the blacks are better than your typical LCD, but just not as black as I had hoped. The above comment goes hand-and-hand with the whites not being as bright as I would like. I have my brightness set at 59% and could raise it higher, but then I the blacks aren't as dark. Perhaps the biggest glaring issue is the screen glare (pun intended). Since it has a glass front, it picks up glare easily. If you have a TV room with no windows, it shouldn't be a problem. My TV room has two large windows so glare is easily shown on the TV. I wait until dusk/dark to use the TV, anyway, so it's not that big of a deal for me. Despite the cons, I am still happy with the purchase. The picture quality is good overall and you will definitely notice what difference a plasma can make over an LCD TV. The screen is reflective so it does suffer some minor glare in the day. Aside from that I love the TV and would recommend. I also upgraded the audio to a 4.1 system to add some bass.
