Review submitted for Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW (Black) (LPSS300AWK)
Pros: Roomy, Easily Accessible Equipment, Good dimensions for 300mm, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Good build quality, Very good value
Cons: Could use tripod straps, Not set up for 2 bodies
Other Comments: I bought this for those days when I need to quickly switch between long telephoto reach and moderate or wide angles. It's perfect for holding a 300mm with large camera body attached (300mm f/4 + D700), and it's super quick to pull them out or put them back, with no risk of spillage. The smaller model 200 bag is not wide enough for that lens. My stretch goal was to be able to also hold a 2nd body with it's short lens attached. Unfortunately there's no space those would fit as a unit. The top compartment will hold a DSLR body alone, or a compact camera. So if I need to switch coverage angle quickly then camera #2 may be carried on my neck. This bag doesn't have the tripod carrier straps like the newer #302 but to be honest if you fill this bag with lenses you won't want any additional weight hanging off of it. If it did have straps I'd use it for a monopod at most. Both the 300 and 302 have enough volume to let you put in too much weight for comfort from the single shoulder strap. So I just won't fill it with lenses, and that will leave more room for snacks.
