Other Comments: I don't know why they say 36 miles on a lake with a straight line of sight.
if your lucky you might get 5 miles

Pros: rugged construction, small and light weight fits in your hand just right. Real good transmission. .this radio does what it's suppose to do.
Cons: Should include AM/FM

Pros: a little more range than the 500 midlands and the price was great. These sell for 99.00 in the stores. The range depends completely on the terrain just like any other radio.
