5 out of 5 stars   works very well
August 05, 2014
Review submitted for Midland 22-Channel GMRS with 18 Mile Range, E Vox, and Channel Scan (Pair) - LXT118 (MLLXT118)
Pros: Use it to keep in touch with the wife who's in the house when I work outside. I mow my neighbors lawn as well and so far I've used it up to 200+ ft away. It has a clear signal all the way through my house and through my neighbors house into his back yard where I'm mowing. It's pretty much a line of site. No hills between me and my neighbor. We have a very clear strong reception, sometimes a little static but not bad. But that's normal given its a walkie talkie. The batteries last about 3 days "on standby". Of course we don't talk that much. If you talk a lot the batteries most likely wouldn't last as long.
Cons: none

4 out of 5 stars   Excellent GMRS Radios
By Doonesbury on May 10, 2014
Review submitted for Midland 22-Channel GMRS with 18 Mile Range, E Vox, and Channel Scan (Pair) - LXT118 (MLLXT118)
Pros: Small, cheap, lightweight, comes with belt clip, pretty good distance though nowhere near what is advertised, easy to operate, buttons large enough to operate when wearing gloves. We use them when riding our VW trikes.
Cons: None so far. We knew they wouldn't be perfect, but nothing is!
Other Comments: Use the "in the ear" type headset for better clarity and noise reduction. The mics, when used on VOX, are kept on by the wind when riding our trikes. We use the PTT (push to talk) button to eliminate that.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product
