Pros: This device really cleans the carpets well. It fluffs up matted carpet making it look new again. The vacuum is wider than other well-know vacuums which means fewer strokes and quicker cleaning.
Cons: The hand tool suction is only fair which means the upholstery function isn't as good as expected. Also the vacuum is really heavy to carry up and down stairs.
Other Comments: I tested the cleaning by using my other vacuum with a dirt sensor after vacuuming with the Maytag and it came up clean with far fewer strokes than my other vacuum. I purchased this vacuum based on extensive research on best vacuums for allergies and asthma, then purchased from this site based on price. We have a house full of animals and this vacuum really takes care of the dander.
