For the price I like all of the options available - MP3, CD, Radio - even SD. I would always wish for a digital tuner or more bass - but that you pay more for. This was a great deal to get my child oriented in using their own portable music system - loves taking it into the tree house! The equipment itself when played using the line out to a good audio system has phenominal bass and treble response. However used alone, there is minimal bass to enjoy with the fairly good mid-range and treble. I have some small (same size) speakers that I am thinking of changing out. Then it will be perfect for the pool. Other than that the unit is good. Radio is very good and so is the CD player. Great idea using the SD Card or USB for input as you can play hours of MP3 music without stopping. I have not yet discovered in the manual if there is a limit to card size but 2gig will play about 8 hours so that will be enough for any pool party. Great value!
