Verified Purchase Review submitted for Nesco Coffee Bean Roaster, 800 Watt (CR-1010PR) (NCOCR1010PR) Pros: Roasting is easy: fill to the mark with beans, set the roasting time, and let it work. You can stop roasting early or extend time, if needed. Catalytic converter really does reduce smoke. Roasting outdoors is still a good idea. Most parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Cons: No replacement parts. You are on your own after the first year. This is my second unit. The first one's motor burnt out after 3 years of use. (I was hoping for the more common melted pulley wheel problem, which is easier to fix.) The new unit is louder than my first one. You have to watch it while it roasts: if a bean gets caught under the auger it will quickly overheat and cause a fire. It has happened to me about once every 150 roasts (no fire, yet). If the augur suddenly grinds to a halt you need to unplug the roaster immediately. Also, if the unit is even slightly damp when you start roasting it will ignite the chaff, which creates a hard to clean mess on the filter screen. (Run the cool mode without beans after it has been in the dishwasher. That usually dries it out.) Other Comments: Despite all the quirks of this roaster, I decided to get a second unit and keep the first for replacement parts.
