I purchased a factory refurb model rather than new because I felt that having a tech go over it and the discounted pricing was an advantage and I wasn't disappointed. This camera is a great value. Fairly easy to us & takes great quality photos. The last camera I purchase was a kodak easy shot about 6 years ago. It took the greatest pictures but after a couple trips to the beach and a few little ones getting ahold of it with sticky fingers the dial gets stuck and there was sand on the lens. I love not having to worry about that with this camera! The camera lens is recessed quite a bit so I can toss it in my purse and not have to worry about it getting scuffed or marked up. The battery life is pretty decent. I charged it fully and used it sporatically for almost a week and still had battery left. It powers up quickly and is ready to go so you aren't missing those shots that you only have a few seconds to catch. The supermacro does a great job getting up close of flowers, bugs in the garden and what not. The panorama is horrible so far but maybe I just need more practice. The image stabilization isn't great in low lighting but it has done really well outdoors and catching quick shots of kids running and playing. Overall, a great buy!
