Review submitted for Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio Binoculars With Case (PKB65X21P)
Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Strong Construction, Lightweight, Adjustable, Quality Lenses, Comfortable
Cons:
Other Comments: Tested last week on a trip to Florida. Am pleased with the 6.5 power for a wide steady image. Perhaps a younger person would want the 8.5 power?Impressed my friends with up close views of insects and flowers. Also, has great clarity for more distant birds. Supplied case fits well and is of very good quality.

5 out of 5 stars   Pentax Papilio 6.5x21
By gene_star on July 12, 2011

Review submitted for Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio Binoculars With Case (PKB65X21P)
Pros: Strong Construction, Close Focus, Lightweight, Compact, Quality Lenses
Cons:
Other Comments: Binoculars small, because it is inconvenient to keep the big man's arm, pretty easy. Corpus rubberized plastic. There is a separate wheel for diopter (?) Setting the right eyepiece. Has an opening for mounting on a tripod. Ring around the eyepiece are three positions (nominated) is convenient to look in glasses. Eyepieces themselves are closed with a plastic lid that is attached to the strap. According to the manufacturer, you can focus on the 50 cm-watch butterflies Smile image sharp, contrasty, bright, distortion is not noticed. Focus ring spin with little effort, you can really focus on a very close distance. As I understand it, change the distance between the eyepieces can be. Binoculars with a strap fastened to the bag comes with a little effort.

4 out of 5 stars   Pentax Papilio Binoculars
By Birding Novice on May 04, 2010
Verified Purchase
Review submitted for Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio Binoculars With Case (PKB65X21P)
Pros: Lightweight, Compact, Close Focus
Cons: Eye Relief only 15mm, Low Light performance
Other Comments: As stated in many reviews, these have excellent close focus. They are very good for insects, plants and other close subjects. The 7.5 degree FOV is very good, as is the 56mm IPD. However the 15mm Eye Relief is a bit tight for glasses wearers, and the 3mm Exit Pupil is not adequate to penetrate shadows for general bird watching. These are a good complimentary pair of bins to my normal 8x32 and 8x42 binoculars. I do recommend them for their exceptional close focus and economical pricing.
