Review submitted for Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3XK 12.1 MP Micro Four Thirds Compact Camera with PZ 14-42mm Lens (PNDMCGF3KK)
Pros: Decent Controls, Decent Starter Zoom Lens, µ 4-3 Swappable Lenses, Micro Four-thirds Lenses, µ43 Standard Ic Lenses, Cheap 3rd Party Batteries, DSLR Quality, Superzoom Size
Cons: Super-short Usb Cable, PROPRIETARY USB CABLE, Proprietary Battery
Other Comments: The body of this camera is no larger than our superzoom point and shoot camera. The lens can't retract into the body, however, so the overall size is thicker with the starter lens. Panasonic also has a very good pancake lens that would slim this up, but you lose the zoom. Ah, the flexibility of an ILC! It has decent manual controls and a pretty intuitive touch screen menu system. The included USB cable is seriously like 4" long, which is ridiculously short. Panasonic doesn't appear to sell a longer one, either, so you'll either want to use a USB extension cable, or buy a longer 3rd party cable. Ultimately, it's the quality that matters, though, and you will be able to achieve that narrow depth of field that comes with narrow FOV lenses. While the sensor is only about half the size of a typical DSLR, it is also 9x bigger than a typical point and shoot. The images are way less noisy than a P&S, especially the raw images. Did I mention that you can shoot raw? This a great camera. You get most of the IQ benefits of a DSLR, but because there's no viewfinder (and therefor no mirrors) it's much more compact, and you can get it for a very good price. Recommended!

Review submitted for Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3XK 12.1 MP Micro Four Thirds Compact Camera with PZ 14-42mm Lens (PNDMCGF3KK)
Pros: Excellent Photos, Fast, Cheap Lens Filters Work, Excellent video, Large Cmos Sensor
Cons: Audio Subject To Wind, Lumix Batteries Costly
Other Comments: I am coming from the Point and Shoot consumer level perspective. I believe the Panasonic Lumix GF3 can fill the P&S category very well, with superb results. The added benefit of switching lenses and manual control, is a bonus, if you are inclined to adventure. I had a prior Lumix P&S, which I really enjoyed, and the GF3 is a step up, all aspects.
