Great, but not perfect

Pros: Small, lightweight and good shots per charge
Lots of great features
Touch screen
Cons: Slow if not impossible to focus macro
Images good, but not the best
Other Comments: I have a complete line up of professional camera bodies and lenses - Canon. Since I purchased the ZS100, (February, 2016) I have put my DSLRs away and exclusively shot the ZS100. in the past 2 - 3 months, I have shot close to 6,000 shots.
My experience is that I love the size, the flexibility in carrying it in pockets, or on a chest strap, and the number of shots I get per battery charge. What I don't like is that it is completely different than the Canon menus, and this took awhile to learn the new descriptive names. The overall impression is that it does a remarkable job with landscapes and portraits. I am a huge macro fan, and this unit does not lend itself to macro shooting. The fixed LCD monitor is limiting both for macro as well as unusual angle shots. Also, on the other end of the lens (250mm) images are often blurred and not as sharp as one would hope for - but hey, it is only a 1" sensor, not a 1.6 or full frame sensor.
Video is stellar, but you probably should purchase a video processing program.
The shift from LCD monitor to viewfinder is a nice treat except occasionally a finger trips the viewfinder and the screen disapperars.
Given the newness of the RAW file system, I have to manually convert the RAW images (through a free Adobe converter) before I can view/work the RAW files. Jpegs do nicely, but are limiting as far as what can be done to process them.
All and all - the images are great
