Verified Purchase Review submitted for Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Pentax DSLR Cameras (RO85MP) Pros: Highly Compatible, Professional Quality Cons: Other Comments: Bought the Pentax version to use on my K-01, which by the way is so much better than I expected, given all the lukewarm reviews. This is actually a PK-A mount lens. When in the "A" setting, the exposure is fully automatic - thanks a lot, Pentax, for being backward compatible! With the narrow DOF at f1.4, combined with K-01's magnification and focus peaking, it is quite straightforward to achieve the accurate focus. So, at least for the Pentax version, the manual focus is not a big hassle at all. What surprised me the most is the image quality when used wide open. It is not the sharpest lens in my bag, but it is so much better than a lot of brand names lenses - many of them do need to be stepped down to have decent results. Way to go, Samyang (the OEM). The first time I tried this lens (vivitar series 1; same lens but different package and cosmetic) was at (* and *) in NYC 34th street[...]. It was at least $100 more then Beach Camera. This lens appeared under other names such as Vivitar, Bower, Samyang and etc. If you research this lens you will find tons of reviews about this lens so I am sure such as test data and all. [...]. I am very happy with it. I am using Pentax k-7 and Samsung nx10 (with adapter, most of the time because of the EVF that can magnify the photo to help me focus) for this lens. So far I am very happy with it.If you are Okay wit manual focus and are shocked by the price of all the 85mm 1.4 lens out there, you should buy this lens without any 2nd thoughts.Beach camera has been great!
