Pros: Lightweight
Intuitive Navigation with rotating bezel, better and more enjoyable navigation than any other smartwatch on the market.
Can design your own watch face extremely easily without coding knowledge with Gear Designer
Good battery life
Cons: Limited Tizen apps compared to Android Wear or Apple.
Newer models out (Gear S2 classic and Gear S3)
Other Comments: Overall, very nice smartwatch. Recommended for those looking for a top-tier but lightweight smartwatch. While the Tizen app store is smaller compared to Android Wear or Apple, I don't think smartwatches currently have a real killer app and most apps on smartwatches will not really be used on a daily basis. In my mind, really the main usage of a smartwatch is to keep up to date with notifications and monitoring fitness, rather than apps as I have not found an application on any smartwatch that I have tried that is a game-changer yet.
The most important features of a good smartwatch in my opinion is a enjoyable navigation design, comfortable to wear, and battery life, and the S2 nails those three things. Much more comfortable to wear than the S3 in direct comparison, but slightly smaller ~2 day battery life in my real world usage, compared to ~3 days on the S3. Still better than most other competitors on the market.
Updated firmware on the S2 brings all of the software functionality and the apps and watchfaces of the S3 to the S2. Really only major feature difference is S3 offers is support for MST payment, which did not matter to me as I do not use my smartwatch for payment. The S2 does offer traditional NFC payment.
In my mind comes down to a watch size preference if deciding between the S2 and S3. Will likely need to see and play with it in person to see what fits your needs the best.
