Pros: Simple-two hookups - - - the external (also) power supply and the USB cable.
Enough room to store jus' 'bout any and all of the standard system.
Portable
Capable of being COMPLETELY removed from unwanted outside influences.
Cons: YOU gotta understand how an external drive is used.
YOU gotta plug in the cable.
YOU gotta be capable of reading the provided manual.... [...]
When all else fails - read the instructions.
Other Comments: What a piece of work... What can you do with FOUR terabytes? Just about anything!
As a Baby-Boomer, I truly missed the Saturday morning kids shows, the comic books of Walt Disney's Comics and stories (all 600+ issues), and oh, the wonderful movies without malice/slaughter/gore. And let's not forget the cartoons from MGM, Disney, Bob Clampett, and so many others. Lastly, there's OTR (Old Tyme Radio). From Amos n' Andy, Fibber McGee & Molly to CBS Radio Mystery Theater to Mother's Best Flour programs featuring Hank Williams. There's enough room here to store All that still exist.
On the regular 'puter that takes a LOT of room.
Here we have a single item that can store ALL. THEN completely removed/isolated from the system and shelved.
System restore files and backup - - - no problem. Lotsa room here.
Simple? Absolutely. Two hookups - - - the provided external power supply and the USB.
Here we are with a home (or business) and some internet hacker finds your system and infects it with..... what-ever. No more problem. Take this Seagate from the shelf and by the time the coffee is made... you back in biddness.
There may be no cure for 'stoopid' but here is the cure for the mega-task of having to restore from discrete disk after disk after disk after disk after disk ........
