Pros: Love The Sharpness, Great for Video, Easily Interchangeable, Excellent Field Of View, Lightweight, Durable
Cons: Slight Auto Focus Issues
Other Comments: I wanted a crop sensor lens that was close to a 50 mm full sensor. I read a lot of reviews, then settled on this lens. I'm a newbie and and still working on my ideal stills but this lens rocks for video

Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Rugged, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons: Heavy
Other Comments: I am so glad I got this lens when I did. They are rare in Canon versions. No matter the price get one as they are much better than a 28 1.8 Canon Prime

4 out of 5 stars   Affordable sharp portrait lens

Review submitted for Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Autofocus Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (SG30F14EOS)
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons: Occasionally Inconsistent
Other Comments: I bought this lens as I have a baby coming and I needed a solid portrait lens for low light and great bokeh. So far I am happy with its performance. I have been able to capture some nice shots in preparation which will suffice until I am able to spring for a full frame body and L class portrait lens. This lens is a great affordable option for satisfying portrait photography.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product

4 out of 5 stars   Great 30mm prime for Canon 7D!

Review submitted for Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Autofocus Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras (SG30F14EOS)
Pros: Strong Construction, Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons:
Other Comments: DOF is paper thin at f/1.4. Sharp at the exact point of focus, but you must be very careful to get useful photos wide open. Wonderful for portraits at f/2 or f/2.8, beautiful background blur and separation of subject. Solid, quality feel of lens on Canon 7D. Fast autofocus although it has a tendency to hunt and difficulty locking in extremely low light. Manual focus ring has a gear-ish feel to it when turning, not buttery smooth as with Canon L-series or even higher-end non-L Canon lenses. Images are tack sharp, relative to focus area. I've read a lot of complaints about lack of sharpness in the corners and could care less, that's not what I use this lens for. Exceptional value at < $300, especially considering the lens hood and case (although I don't use it) are included.
