Pros: Solid Built
Great pro-level features
Video quality is beyond amazing
Cons: Like most cameras it hunts for focus in certain low light conditions.
The location of the focus assist button is next to impossible to reach while recording. Whoever designed that location should be fired.
Still waiting for Sony's promised firmware update that will enable 100mb/s recording.
Other Comments: This camera blows the Canon HF G30 away. As soon as my Sony AX100 arrived I did side by side testing between the 2 cameras. Even with the Canon 20x zoom the Sony blew it away in long range closeups. I sold the Canon immediately. There is no better small form factor video camera on the market today. The 1" sensor is king!. I have been a loyal Canon customer for 20 years and lately they have been slipping on many levels. Thank you Sony for not only having an adequate alternative you kit the ball out of the park with this baby.
Get the Sony brand batteries. My testing with 4 other generic brand batteries showed that the Sony batteries lasted about 1 hour longer than the generic equivalents of the same size. No comparison.
