My new replacement Singer seems as easy to operate as my old one. There is a lot more plastic on this new one, it doesn't feel as sturdy but the performance is as good. I can't work out the automatic needle threader, it's still a mystery even after many read throughs of the instructions. I have yet to try the many fancy stitches as I have been making curtains up to now but I am very pleased with the results so far. In fact I am searching for the perfect fabric for my dining room curtains next and looking forward to using my machine again.
