Pros: Once you put the chain on in the right direction, this saw works like a champ. I took down limbs 12 to 15 feet off the bank overlooking a lake with no issues, something I wouldn't even have tried with a conventional saw and a ladder. The saw is easy to manage, and is light enough for a senior citizen to use. I shopped only on price, but more than got my money's worth.
Cons: There are probably refurbs on the market that were sent back when there was nothing wrong with them. The problem is that the diagrams showing the chain orientation on the bar conflict. I'm sure that most people (like me) put the chain on according to the picture on the bar itself. Wrong! Exactly backwards. Another figure (on the plastic shroud, which is harder to see) is actually correct. After the saw wouldn't cut and threw the chain, I figured the chain had to be on backwards. So on closer inspection, I found the diagram on the shroud, tried that orientation, and Presto, a killer saw.
Other Comments: Doesn't seem to be a cheap piece of junk, even at this low price. They always ask you for product reviews way too early, so be advised I've only used the saw once, and that was yesterday. But as I said, it was worth every penny already for getting rid of those limbs hanging over my garden. They'd been bothering me for years, and all my wife could say was 'why didn't you cut down the whole thing'.

Pros: Refurb but looks new and the motor runs good
Even came with a new chain in a sealed package
Cons: chain is defective, cutting teeth or the drive teeth on the opposite side are backwards from how they are supposed to be. or perhaps the drive gear/hub/spindle in installed upside down.
verified by comparing to my other chain saw.
the motor/drive gear will not drive the chain - just slips and squeals. unless you install it the wrong way then it drives good but no way the chain will cut when run backwards.
Other Comments: the unit's instructions say to email the mfgr and do not return to seller
so far no reply to my email
