Review submitted for Toshiba Qosmio 17.3" X775-Q7272 Red Horizon Notebook PC - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor (TBX775Q7272)
Pros: Fast processor, Good Graphics, Large screen
Cons: Low battery life, Heavy
Other Comments: Nice laptop, runs at a good speed. The laptop is very heavy, and the charging cord weighs another ~3 pounds. On standard power usage its battery life is around 35 mins. It has a rather slow startup, and is really a desktop replacement. The graphics card/processor run everything I throw at them. I've run Homefront, Combat Arms, and Supreme commander without any lag. One thing about the keyboard is that the delete key is hard to find. I often hit the instead of backspace when I'm typing or vice versa.

5 out of 5 stars   This Is One Amazing Beast
By Nick on October 04, 2011
Review submitted for Toshiba Qosmio 17.3" X775-Q7272 Red Horizon Notebook PC - Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor (TBX775Q7272)
Pros: Great picture, Wide monitor, Powerful Microphone, Very Responsive Mouse, Lighten Keyboard, Lots of Memory, Touch Control Panel, Awesome speakers, User friendly, Plenty of Ram, Sleek design, sub woofer, Number Keypad, Powerful Webcam Camera, Amazing processor
Cons: Short battery life
Other Comments: I bought this laptop with one thing in mind for it- I wanted a high performance gaming laptop. I got just that. With all the bells and whistles to boot. This laptop, which I am using to write this review, is sleek, smooth, and powerful. It is just as I said it is- A high performance gaming laptop. Toshiba went all out on these beasts. They held nothing back. Everything is amazing. The laptop remains cool even in high use of games. The screen is amazing, and though it doesnt have 1080p display, it is quite impressive. Its 720p does not take away from the experience. Any higher in quality of the screen, I must admit, will make you feel incredibly warm and would use the battery up in minutes. Just know, that despite the fact that other Qosmio models and other High Performance laptops may have 1080, this is still a magnificent display. The speakers are amazing. I brought this laptop to my art class and started playing music for my fellow students to listen to. People in the hall could hear this thing as it echoed through this giant art room, louder than the rooms normal speakers for its only computer. The subwoofer on the bottom makes a big difference in sound and bass and it can be felt. The design is amazing and feels as nice as it looks. You grab this thing and start using it, you instantly feel impressed buy how well Toshiba came up with these models. It sits at an incline which not only helps to air the product out and keep it cool, but also makes typing better. The keys are silent and light up. Depending on the setting, the keys remain lit, or stay off, or only turn on when you begin to type and turn off when you stop to conserve the battery. This machine has an Eco Mode, for all you environmentalists out there, and can cut the energy consumption of the machine by 90%. When you buy this, you are going to smile every time someone stops by just to look at this thing. You will feel powerful as your peers and colleagues admire just how amazing thing looks. And it does look awesome. It is not uniform to any of the current laptop standards of design and turns heads when people see it. My only bad comment about this laptop is its battery life. But that is to be expected with such a beast. My battery, on a good, lasts me around 3 to 4 hours if I am using it constantly without giving it any time for a break. However, if I am not exploiting this laptops amazingly powerful processor, or its 6 gigs of ram, I can see this thing last up to six or eight hours, depending what it is that I am doing. If this is your choice, know that all Qosmio batteries are like this. If you decide to buy this product, make sure to condition the battery by allowing it to die completely before charging it, and when you do charge it- turn it off and charge it to 100% and repeat the process multiple times. You will get your computer to work past the little annoyance of its battery issue. All in all, I rate this computer highly, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants something that looks as good as it runs.
