SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di with Built-in Motor for Nikon, With USA Warranty
(TM2875NIM)
Pros: Strong Construction
Cons: Blurry Focus
Other Comments: I tried very hard to love this lens after reading so many good reviews. I just couldn't though. Perhaps mine was from a bad batch but it was disappointing. The lens was slow to focus, and sometimes autofocus really struggled. The photos were never sharp whatever settings I used. I even tried removing the filter as a last resort. Portraits were nice if I consistently wanted the soft focus effect....
I will say that Beach Camera has excellent customer service. Absolutely no problem returning the lens.

SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di with Built-in Motor for Nikon, With USA Warranty

Pros: Nice Bokeh, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Consistent Output, Lightweight, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons: Lens Creep
Other Comments: I shoot about 80 - 100 sports events a year, most played at night or in gymnasiums. Especially for basketball, I'd find my 80-200mm was difficult to use close to he basket, but my 50mm couldn't give me the images I needed farther away from the basket. This lens solves these problems for me. The focus is fast and surprisingly sharp. It handles the more poorly lit courts with ease. I love it so far.
Yes, I recommend this product

Pros: Durable, Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Easily Interchangeable, Consistent Output
Cons:
Other Comments: The Tamron 28-75mm lens takes great pictures and is everything I expected and more. I use this lens for portraits, low light situations (the constant 2.8 apperature is the deal maker), and when I need a quick auto focus. I also use the Tamron 18-270mm lens, which is great for travel and all around use, but slow auto focus from about 150-270mm. and MANY times won't focus at all-especially in low light, causing me to miss many shots- switching to manual focus. I really appreciate the Tamron 28-75mm quick auto focus- especially in low light situations. (Hoping for a 18or24mm-85or100mm lens with a constant 2.8 and quick focus for under $1000.-- DREAM ON!)

Pros: Great WOW factor, Nice Bokeh, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Consistent Output
Cons: NONE
Other Comments: Really like this lens. I know they dont really compare but since I've got this lens I hardly ever put the nikkor 70-300 VR on anymore. And if I do, I usually change back within minutes. This lens is much better than any kit lens that you might use and really shines in low light photography.
