Tried it on the lid of my kitchen waste container with decent volume and bass. Not meant for dense, thick or solid surfaces or boxes. But on a thin large container top surface it sounds good enough with sufficient bass to balance the highs. Haven't evaluated battery life but it charges quickly. The bottom surface has an anti-slip treatment to minimize vibrations that would cause it to slide. Works better than I would have expected. Try one for yourself.
