The timer function not only lets you preset what time your Friends of hue product comes on - for light when you arrive home in the evening. It also lets you change your lights gradually over time. Use it to turn your Friends of hue product into your wake up light. Preset it for gradual brightness intensity to bring you out of your sleep in a soft and gentle way vs the sudden beep or ring of a conventional alarm clock. At night, you can preset the timer to turn your lights off gradually to help you fall asleep naturally.
