WakaWaka has a 800 mAh NiMh battery (3 x AA size) with 500 cycles. This means it can be fully charged and discharged 500 times before the capacities start to degraded steadily. Since WakaWaka runs at least 2 days on 1 cycle, the batteries will work for at least 1,000 days, or around 3 years before they start to wear out and need to be replaced.

Auto energy saving mode
When WakaWaka has around 1 hour left on the battery, it will automatically dim to the next light model. This way you can double your last hour. A bit later it will dim to the 10% mode. Still enough to read a book in bed, or to find your way to a toilet. This will last for hours and hours. But you'll be motivated to charge it again the next day.

SOS emergency beacon Press the button for at least 1 second, and WakaWaka will start sending out a light morse code: S.O.S. It can be a life saver when you're out at sea and in distress, or when you've had an accident and can't walk. The blinking light will attract attention, whether people can read morse or not.
