About IS, I haven't found a camera yet that does exceptional with IS, but this camera does well. In all fairness though, I tend to shake a bit.All in all, I love this camera!!

About Me Semi-pro Photographer
Beach camera is awesome as is this camera I also have the T1i so I have a new learning curve. But I shoot events and think you should move up. I hope the angle view screen helps with my lack of height. Bit I normally shoot through the veiw finder. Has a lot of good semi automatic features makes this a good camera for anyone. I'm a Canon person, and Beach Camera customer service, fast ship, best price. Repeat buyer

Great Camera, upgrading from XSi.

I think this camera is great, finally I can push the button and capture the picture of the moment and not the picture of 1 to 2 seconds later. The 5 frames/sec really helps to get THE shot in portraits - unfortunately the mirror banging up and down does seem to fuzz the picture somewhat. I also like the flip-out and swivel viewing screen for those awkward shots-one of the reasons for choosing this camera.

So far I am nothing but impressed by this camera. The set-up is terrific. Very user friendly. There is even a setting to compensate for vignetting on a longer lens. Cannot find any negatives. The 18-135 is better than I expected for a kit lens and well worth the small difference in price from buying just the body. The only problem with the lens like many today is lens creep when you hold it vertically. That can easily be solved by using a lens cap keeper and wrapping the string around the lens hood.

Easy to use for a beginner
from Dallas, TX
I purchased this product a few weeks ago after doing a years worth of research on Nikon and Canon cameras. I had narrowed down to the 60D versus the Rebel t3i. Purchased it as a kit with the 18-135 lens (which is sufficient). If we had a better budget, I would have gotten the 18-200 lens. Both are comparable ... the rebel was slightly less bulky and lighter weight, but the 60D has a faster frame per second (5fps-60D) versus (3fps-rebel). Also, the 60D's LCD will actually flip out of the camera which cannot be done with the rebel. This allows the shooter to switch to shooting using the LCD in situations where you can't use the viewfinder. IE. we were at the zoo and I had to lift my camera over my head and tilt the lens downward to get a photo of an animal. I switched the mode to LCD shooting and tilted the LCD screen towards me so I could see what i was shooting. It enabled me to see what I was shooting versus shooting blind. I have NEVER used an SLR before as my only camera is a Canon point and shoot. The 60D controls and auto features were easy for me to figure out how to use. However, there are enough manual features that as I get more proficient, the camera will continue to grow with my skills. In particular, I love the multiple 'creative auto' features which set the camera to certain settings based upon where you are shooting (landscape, portrait, night, etc.). I purchased the camera primarily to capture high quality photos of my daughter. The sports/action creative auto setting is great for catching her in action. It uses multiple burst shots and the auto focus tracks her as she moves around ... allowing me to instantly capture that perfect moment when it happens. I already have taken a photo that all my family claims is their favorite photo of her. Thanks, Canon ... I love this camera!

This is my first dSLR. So far I like it a lot. The picture quality is great. It is very easy to use and select the functions we need. My wife uses it to shoot our newborn and she likes it as well. It's worthy every penny we spent.
