Superior capturing power delivered by a high-density 51-point AF system, which covers nearly the entire image area in the 1.3x crop of DX mode
The D7100 comes equipped with a 51-point AF system that covers a wide area with high density. In the 1.3x crop of
DX mode, the 51 focus points cover almost its entire image area, attaining extremely high subject capturing power. The center focus point is compatible with AF at f/8. By pairing this lightweight, compact body, unique to DX formats, with a teleconverter, you can pack light but still enjoy super-telephoto AF shooting

Image sensor unit without an optical low-pass filter, which takes full advantage of the potential of 24.1 effective megapixels and the sharp depiction performance of NIKKOR lenses
The D7100 employs an image sensor unit designed without an optical low-pass filter to take full advantage of the high
resolution achieved by its high pixel count. This image sensor unit maximizes the resolving power of 24.1 megapixels and NIKKOR lenses, bringing sharp, clear rendering of delicate details of your subjects. With this camera, you can shoot high-definition images that retain excellent quality even if trimmed or enlarged.

Compact and lightweight body realized by Nikon DX format, that employs highly reliable magnesium alloy covers and superior weather and dust sealing
Reduced from the D7000, the D7100 weighs a mere approx. 675 g/1 lb 7.8 oz (body only). With excellent capturing
power, exquisite detail reproduction and depiction performance encapsulated in this compact, lightweight body, the camera demonstrates great agility. The body is also durable as it employs magnesium alloy for the top and rear covers. With effective sealing applied on various parts of the body, it secures weather and dust resistance, equivalent to the D800 series and D300S. As a middle-class DX-format D-SLR, it features a highly sophisticated design, which satisfies pride of ownership.

5 out of 5 stars   Nikon D7100 Great Camera

Review submitted for Nikon D7100 DX-format Black Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-140mm VR Lens (NKD7100KT18140)

Pros: Great camera. Started just on "Auto" and took great pictures. Am learning more about the various other modes -- shutter, aperture priority,etc-- and other features of the camera. I use the instruction manual and a third party instruction book to delve deeper into everything this camera can do. Love the solid feel of the 7100. Not too big, not too small. I will be using this camera for a long time.
Cons: None so far.
Other Comments: People have asked where I got the camera and I have told them "Beach Camera". The service and timely shipment was great. Will shop at Beach some more in the future for my photographic needs.

Pros: Camera arrived as expected and in perfect condition. Packaged well. Upgrading from a D90 so it will take time getting use to some of the different settings. I like the combination of the Lightroom package with this purchase Did not see another dealer with this bundle so this was great!
Cons: Difficulty in receiving the package as it needed to be signed for. I work during the day and Fed Ex requires you pay an additional amount for an evening or Saturday delivery. Fed Ex system online system was not working properly and I could not schedule or pay for the special delivery. After 3 calls and over an hour of my time, I was able to get Fed Ex to deliver it to a neighbor. This was not the fault of the seller but by requiring a signature, it did make things a little more difficult.

5 out of 5 stars   Great camera
By ajd (Westchester, NY) October 26, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon D7100 DX-Format Digital HD-SLR Body with 3.2" LCD Monitor (NKD7100)

Pros: Upgraded from an older lower model Nikon DSLR. Was deciding btwn a D5300 and the D7100 and made the right choice. Worth the price difference btwn the two in my case as I like all of the manual controls, the higher fps, and the full viewfinder. Takes great pics and can use all of my previous lenses. Also, not to large or heavy so easy to carry around.
Cons: None so far
Other Comments: First time purchase from buydig.com. Didn't rely on them for camera advice, but price was consistent in comparison to other authorized online retailers and they offered a good bundle with camera for no additional cost. Also, return policy was better than most. Would order from them again.

5 out of 5 stars   Great choice
By DrTimDoesPhotos (Monterey - San Francisco, CA) July 14, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon D7100 DX-format Black Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-140mm VR Lens (NKD7100KT18140)

Pros: For the avid (not professional) photographer, this camera delivers a significant upgrade from the 3000 series. With better color balance and a much better flash synchronization, the pictures have color that is more vivid and realistic. If you already have a collection of DX lenses, this is the camera you should buy. Skip the nickel and dime upgrade from the 5000 series and make the plunge.
Cons: It's not an FX camera, so the 1:3 or 1:5 tradeoff has to be made. Even if you have FX lenses, it will still tak DX photos
Other Comments: Has a great look and feel. It's heavier, but in a better way as the size increase gives more room to grip the camera

5 out of 5 stars   Good experience with buydig.com

Review submitted for Nikon D7100 DX-Format Digital HD-SLR Body 64GB SD and 18-200mm Lens Bundle with Adobe (E2NKD7100)
Pros: Delivery on time, Excellent service, Accurate Ads Description, Reasonably Priced, No delivery charge
Cons: Can't think of any
Other Comments: I use the products for personal photography needs. The price advertised by buydig.com is reasonable. I was a bit worried to get a 'grey market' products but the products arrived with the U.S. warranty. I tested the camera for shutter count and it showed 1 in my No.1 picture. Since this was the first time I used buydig.com, it was great to know that I was dealing with a honest and reputable supplier.

5 out of 5 stars   D7100 is a Worthwhile Upgrade
By Logan the Filmmaker (Spokane, WA) April 29, 2013
Review submitted for Nikon D7100 DX-Format Digital HD-SLR Body 16GB Bundle (E1NKD7100)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Sturdy, Light
Cons:
Other Comments: I recently purchased this camera to replace and supplement my Nikon D7000. I was extremely pleased with the D7000 and this upgrade has several features that make it even better. I use these DSLRs to shoot most of my films and enjoy wilderness photography as well. Pros Everything that I loved about the D7000 remains. 720p at 60fps is excellent if you're looking for HD slow motion footage. More autofocus points (51 vs 39 in the D7000) 24 megapixel Cons Having a swiveling screen (yes, it doesn't look the best, and has the potential to break) would be very helpful when it comes to filming. Overall, the camera is excellent, and easy to figure out if you've already owned its predecessor!

5 out of 5 stars   It looks like it's going to be a winner
By Alan (Houston, Tx) March 27, 2013

Pros: Solid camera
Cons:
Other Comments: Heavy Amateur photographer – doing a lot of club shoots and travel photography. Great things – the first thing I did with the camera is check the quality of the image as I wasn't very happy with the D7000 in that regard. I'm glad to say that, blown up side by side with my D300 (less than .01% of the frame) the D7100 was as sharp as the D300 and hadn't yet started pixelating when the D300's image was gone. The image was limited by lens quality. Considering that these are Nikon lenses I'm using, I think I have reached the end of my camera quest. It fits well in the D300->D7000->D7100 DX evolution so no surprises. A few nice menu items – I think some better screens on photo information. I do like the way the covers for the plugs work now – the D7000 has a big "cap" that you have to leave open if you want to use a GPS. The plug is in the same place, but the cover works better now. Not so great – I don't mind them discarding the view screen cover as it was a bit clunky. But I do wish they would have included a "scratch guard" type peel and stick cover. I'm not completely sure yet, but it seems like the plug I used to use for the remote is gone.
