It is an outstanding product, easy to use and best GPS. I don't need the fancy blue tooth or mp3 to drain my gas.

I was a big skeptic, and am still learning all the features. We bought it for a cross country trip, multi- stops. It has been a life saver, and super helpful. One nice thing is deviations for meals or, ?, whatever are NBD- no big deal. It has several set up options that really change performance. But we are fans.

Garmin Nuvi is the best and I have purchased 2 of them. The only reason I had to buy a new one was because I misplaced the one I purchased 5 years ago. Very user friendly...

Compare with Tomtom 340LM, it has several good features:

first, when get to the destination, this one will show you which side of the road the destination is (I always have no idea which side of the road is the destination when using 340LM)

second, more information to select to show on the screen. For example, the elevation, ...

Third, the detour function is good.

Forth, Garmin finally abandoned the "recalculating" function!!!

However, after I updated the map, it gives several mistakes on the map and the route, which are not seen when use the old map.

I have only had my Garmin a couple of weeks, but it is easy to use, easy to see, and does not use the irritating phrase "re-calculating". It connects to the satellite in a few seconds, and the screens are fairly simple. A novice would have no problem in learning to to use it. Even through I updated the maps, there are certain roads that are not shown.
