Whether you have an eye for design, a love of sports or all that and then some, the PK550 is a plasma that will impress. With its TruSlim Frame, it has looks to turn heads and its 600Hz refresh rate makes it perfect for fast action. Wrap that up with a load of other features, like its outstanding contrast ratio, and you have a TV that anyone would want in their living room.

LED's cant touch the specs and for half the price, buying this TV is a no brainer. Dont get caught up in the bad hip on plasma's. This baby is on 2 inches deep. All new technology. Dont get me wrong, the LED's are the next best thing but for the price??

VERY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE

[...]One thing to remember with Plasma T. V.'s is that they use more electricity and run hotter than other T. V.'s, and most of important, they cannot be laid flat for a long period of time. My neighbour lost his by doing this. It laid flat for a couple of weeks and destroyed the unit.. Very happy with the quality of picture and sound.Overall, a great experienc, and the price was right.
Not great, but not bad, either.

Overall, it's a good unit. The exterior design and slimness are attractive. Colors are vibrant and the 600Hz refresh is great for fast action (like computer games). However, there are a few things that I am not happy about. First off, the "zoom" feature actually stretches the video up & down, so if I am watching a letterbox DVD that has the black bars at the top & bottom, the picture will be distorted when I zoom it to fill the screen (people's faces look too fat/skinny, etc.).Also, the black level is not as deep as I thought. This is my first plasma, so maybe I had too high of expectations. Don't get me wrong, the blacks are better than your typical LCD, but just not as black as I had hoped. The above comment goes hand-and-hand with the whites not being as bright as I would like. I have my brightness set at 59% and could raise it higher, but then I the blacks aren't as dark. Perhaps the biggest glaring issue is the screen glare (pun intended). Since it has a glass front, it picks up glare easily. If you have a TV room with no windows, it shouldn't be a problem. My TV room has two large windows so glare is easily shown on the TV. I wait until dusk/dark to use the TV, anyway, so it's not that big of a deal for me.Despite the cons, I am still happy with the purchase. The picture quality is good overall and you will definitely notice what difference a plasma can make over an LCD TV.
