4 out of 5 stars   Improvement over previous models
By Laocoon (Loudon, TN) April 26, 2015
Review submitted for Pacific Image PowerSlide 5000 CCD Slides Scanner with 5000dpi Resolution (PACIMGPS5000)
Verified Reviewer
Pros: Improved over 3650 model. Slots in the slide tray are slightly wider, which prevents the frequent jamming. Equivalent results with the straight tray (provided) or the circular tray (optional).
Cons: Does jam sometimes, especially with older slide mounts that are a little puffed up from moisture and time. Software provided isn't the easiest to use, requires a brief learning curve.
Other Comments: You need this if you're doing a lot of slides!

Pros: ....Works better on singles & to work good on slides...they need to be in almost "mint" condition...;)
Cons: ....can occasionally jam....and when that happens a few times too many...it's time to use "single mode"...ONLY... ;)

4 out of 5 stars   Machine seems solid and works as said.
By minoltamike (St. Louis MO) November 09, 2013
Review submitted for Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250uPro3 for Windows and Mac (PACIMG7250PRO3)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Great Overall Quality, Easy To Use, Accurate Colors, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Noisy
Other Comments: Had used PrimeFilm 3650U scanner before this one, was happy with the scan results, so when the time and money came, I purchased this 7250U scanner, I like the autofeed film handling and even better image depth. Haven't used the 7200 DPI setting yet as no need, 3600 is more than satisfactory for 8X10 prints.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product

Review submitted for Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250uPro3 for Windows and Mac (PACIMG7250PRO3)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Great Overall Quality, Accurate Colors, Easy Setup, Easy To Use
Cons:
Other Comments: I use it to transfer roughly 2000 old slides to CD. It would cost a fortune to have this done at a specialized store. Not hard to do yourself and it's fun.

3 out of 5 stars   PrimeFilm 7250 Scanner flaw
By Al (san diego, ca) February 06, 2013
Review submitted for Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250uPro3 for Windows and Mac (PACIMG7250PRO3)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy Setup
Cons:
Other Comments: Has one major flaw. I purchased the product mostly to scan 35mm slides. Each slide must be physically pushed in and held during the lengthy scan or PrimeFilm doesn't read the slide being there. I rigged up a piece of PVC and rubber bands to hold the slide in during the scan. This flaw is mentioned in the user's manual "some slides mounts are thin and will require slight pressure for it to register" It's a lot more than slight pressure on the one I purchased. It takes two rubber bands wrapped around the scanner to hold the PVC with enough pressure for the slide to register.
