The DMC-FX7 is not much wider than a standard business card, yet it puts an amazing 5-Effective Megapixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom right in your pocket. You can even use the 4x digital zoom together with the 3x optical zoom to enjoy up to 12x zoom power. And thanks to the high-performance Venus Engine II LSI, the DMC-FX7 a super-fast response that lets you snap off consecutive shots at 3 frames per second with full resolution with unlimited consecutive shooting function, and an incredibly fast 0.008 second shutter lag.
5 Megapixel Resolution
With a resolution of 5 megapixels, you'll be able to produce high resolution images that can yield photo quality 11x17" prints.
Leica 3x Optical Zoom Lens
The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens on the DMC-FX7 follows in the Leica tradition of excellence. Although it is small in size, it has a large, bright aperture, meeting Leica's stringent quality standards. A Leica multi-coating process applied to the lens helps to prevent the fogging caused by flare, and ghosts that can result from excessive light. Even enlarged images captured by the DMC-FX7 are crisp and clear - right to the edges.
Venus Engine II LSI
Thanks to the high-performance Venus Engine II LSI, shutter release time lag is reduced to approximately 0.008 seconds and the shutter interval to only around 0.4 seconds. This gives the DMC-FX7 a super-fast response that lets you snap off consecutive shots at 3 frames per second with full resolution. And the Unlimited Consecutive Shooting function allows unlimited consecutive shooting up to the capacity of the SD Memory Card in the camera--ideal for capturing fast-moving objects in high resolution.
MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer
The MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) feature offsets unintentional hand movement while you're taking pictures to give you clear, sharp images even when taking handheld telephoto shots or shooting at night. This optical technology provides precise compensation for movement with no image quality degradation.
1.5" Diagonal LCD Monitor
This high-quality, 114,000-pixel display makes it easy to see what you're shooting. You can even boost the backlighting by 33% by pressing the Power LCD button when shooting outdoors on a sunny day.
Intelligent Multiple Metering Mode
Provides incredible exposures by helping to improve brightness, color temperature and focus information. It also helps to determine the best exposure setting in difficult shooting situations - such as when there is intrusive backlighting.
Motion Image Recording with Audio
Using the QuickTime Motion JPEG format, the Lumix DMC-FX7 can record moving images with audio at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The maximum time for each recorded segment varies depending solely on the available SD card capacity.
Bundled Photo Editing Software
The photo editing software included with the Lumix DMC-FX7 camera lets you turn your home computer into a virtual photo studio
