Not only can the DMR-EH50 record onto more disk formats than any of Panasonic's previous models, but this fantastic model also has an 100GB hard drive. Offering up to 177 hours of recording, this new addition to the DIGA portfolio offers a convenient way to archive your favorite programs, films, sporting events and JPEG photos in a secure and easy to access unit. Another great feature of the DMR-EH50 is the ability for up to 64x high speed dubbing from the hard disk. A one hour program (originally recorded in EP [8H] mode onto the hard drive) can be transferred to a DVD RAM disk in just 1.5 minutes and to a DVD-R disk in only 1 minute - making the DMR-EH50 a really convenient product to archive with.

The DIGA DMR-EH50 adds SD to its impressive array of compatible formats. This model has a built in SD card slot, which enables the transfer of JPEG images between a digital camera and the Hard Disk Drive recorder. Not only can you playback photos on your television, but you can also use the HDD as storage for all your photos! By simply inserting the SD card into the slot and accessing the menu, holiday snaps and precious moments can be viewed on screen.

The virtual Multi Encode System enables LP mode recording with the same 500 lines (D1) of horizontal resolution as that in the SP and XP modes. This is double the 250 lines (1/2 D1) of horizontal resolution found with conventional Long Play recording. Now, four hours of recording at full resolution can be stored onto a standard 4.7 GB DVD as opposed to the maximum of two hours that is possible on other recorders.

In addition, the DMR-EH50 uses the 12bit Analog-to-Digital converter to provide an amazing 4x natural gradation. The 4096 steps of gradation are extremely dense in comparison to the 1024 steps that are possible with a regular 10bit Analog-to-Digital converter. Faithful reproduction of even the finest detail is the result, making the DMR-EH50's picture nothing short of stunning. The DMR-EH50 also includes progressive scan (PAL/NTSC) ensuring high vertical resolution when used with an appropriate screen (LCD or plasma) or LCD projector.
