Comments about TomTom ONE 140S Car Navigator GPS w/ Spoken Street Names & 3.5 inch Touchscreen:
Awesome unit at an awesome price. Great directions. warns me about cameras. does everything a GPS needs to do without paying for all the extras that I don't need. The only drawback for none technical people is that in order to update to a newer map when you first buy the unit, you must delete some of the voice files that you don't use in order to make room for the new map file. Seems the could have avoided this to make it more user friendly for non computer people. Otherwise the best advice I can give with this unit is to keep current with the free updates for the satelite aquiring. this will make sure your unit aquires the satelites quickly. Enjoy!

I especially like the spoken street feature. For the price, it is a Best Value.

Opted for a new GPS instead of buying maps for my old one. Good choice, but I've used garmin for many years and there are differences. For nuts and bolts navigation I still prefer the garmin, but you can't beat all of the new technology you get with this Tom Tom.

It is certainly an improvement over our 5 year old unit, we would buy it again......only problem we found it sometimes has been slow with connections when needed in the biggest hurry. Not sure if we pre-planned our routes some of those difficulties might be less of an issue. Not ready to entirely blame it on the unit, we may need to experiment more with it.
Just what I needed!

Great, basic, and affordable GPS. Well worth the dough. Only complaints have been about the silly suction mount piece that sometimes randomly loses its grip...Wish it had more voices to choose from and weren't such a pain to update...Out of the box had very successful rates with finding routes. Thanks!

I used the TomTom to drive 640 miles on a road trip. My only complaint every so often it would say to drive 55 miles on a route but would then say a different mileage like 24 a few miles later. But it got me to where I was going!
I bought this item for cross county traviling from Maryland to Las Vegas, and it worked out great.
A really good product for the price

A really good GPS under for being under [$] I like how easy it mounts to the windshield with the included mounting hardware. The only two complaints I have are that (1) the keyboard is a bit tricky - I kept hitting the letter adjacent to the letter I really I wanted, and (2) I wished it were easier to set "favorites" so that when I want to go back home, I can just go into "favorites" and navigate "home". Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet. This may be something I have to set up after hooking it to my PC.
