3 out of 5 stars   Continuous backup for networks only
By BNZ (Portland, OR) February 22, 2011
Review submitted for Western Digital My Book World Edition 4TB External Dual Drive (WDH2NC40000N)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Compact, Highly Compatible, Easy To Manage
Cons: Slow, Complicated To Set Up
Other Comments: It is used as a continuous backup for three computers on a network. It is slow because it verifies all data so it has taken an entire week to copy backup data from my computers to this drive. Otherwise, it works in the background and is a carefree installation. It has no USB or Firewire connections so it can only be used on a network.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product

4 out of 5 stars   Great NAS Data Storage; Slow Data Server
By StooBush (Silver Spring, MD) December 01, 2010
Review submitted for Western Digital My Book World Edition 4TB External Dual Drive (WDH2NC40000N)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Compact, Easy To Set Up, Highly Compatible, Easy To Manage
Cons: Slow
Other Comments: This is a great unit for redundant, networked storage of all your data. It's a mediocre media server due to the slow data access times (even when not over wireless, such as Drive->Router->Wired PS3), but I bought it as a storage and distribution device, not to directly serve video.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product

Pros:
