Fuel Your Creative Passion

Optimized to make even the most challenging photographic situations effortless, Canon's EOS 7D Mark II has a winning combination of cutting-edge operations and a robust, ergonomic design. A sophisticated 20.2 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors ? plus a host of new and refined capabilities helps make the EOS 7D Mark II the perfect camera to bring your imagination to reality.

Up to 10.0 fps High-Speed Shooting

The EOS 7D Mark II has a new, rugged shutter (constructed to withstand up to 200,000 cycles), and can shoot up to 10.0 frames per second to capture all the action. Refined mechanics like a newly designed, more efficient shutter drive motor and a vibration dampened mirror drive mean reliable, speedy performance for high caliber image capture, fast.

Outstanding Autofocus

The EOS 7D Mark II features some of Canon's most sophisticated AF technologies ever, enabling the camera to achieve impeccably clear action shots or smooth and precise video capture in Live View. Designed to be fast, the EOS 7D Mark II delivers impressive results.

65-Point* All Cross-type AF

The EOS 7D Mark II features 65-point* All Cross Type AF that helps ensure precise and stable AF no matter the subject or the camera's orientation.  These AF points are spread over a wide area of the frame, enabling faster AF whereever the subject lies. With a central dual cross-type AF point of f/2.8, AF is enhanced with lenses faster than f/2.8.  Also, this new system makes AF possible in dim lighting as low as EV-3 (for center point only).

*The number of available AF points, and whether single line or cross-type, varies depending on the lens

Dual Pixel CMOS AF

Canon's revolutionary Dual Pixel CMOS AF enables sophisticated HD shooting with the EOS 7D Mark II. With Dual Pixel CMOS AF, each pixel on the camera?s sensor performs both phase-difference detection autofocus and records light. Auto-focus is achieved quickly,
easily and silently thanks to phase-difference detection AF. When used with the predictive power of Movie Servo AF, subjects in motion are smoothly and consistently tracked - once focus is locked, the EOS 7D Mark II stays on target!

Image Quality

Beauty begins with the details. To capture every little detail, Canon's amazing system of optics, sensor and image processors work seamlessly together to deliver high image quality. Images suitable for fine art printing, large scale posters, jpegs over email and everything in between.

20.2 Megapixel CMOS Sensor Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors

The EOS 7D Mark II's 20.2 Megapixel sensor works seamlessly with a pair of DIGIC 6 Image Processors for supercharged processing across the board. These Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors help the EOS 7D Mark II capture up to 1090 JPEG/LARGE, 31 RAW, and 19 RAW+JPEG shots* in a single burst for detailed action photography. They also enable the camera?s powerful image processing on-the-fly: lens aberration, variances in peripheral illumination, and image distortion can all be corrected in real time.

*Figures apply to a UDMA mode 7, CF card based on Canon's testing standards.

ISO 16000

Optimized for low-light shooting, the EOS 7D Mark II's sensor captures images at up to ISO 16000 (expandable to H1: 25600 and H2: 51200). Thanks to its improved, higher sensitivity photodiode construction, CMOS circuitry, and color filters with higher light transmittance, the EOS 7D Mark II records both still and moving images at higher ISO speeds with remarkably low noise, making excellent low-light photography and moviemaking possible.

EOS iSA System

The EOS 7D Mark II has an Intelligent Subject Analysis (iSA) system that employs an independent RGB+IR light sensor with approximately 150,000-pixel resolution. With this new sensor, not only does the camera have a finer level of accuracy, but when combined with iTR AF - which offers a new processing algorithm to detect faces and colors - the EOS 7D Mark II can track subjects with a significantly greater level of success. The RGB+IR sensor even enables infrared-light detection an a flicker detection system
that compensates for flickering light sources, taking shots only at peak light volume.

EOS HD Video

Shooting EOS HD Video is easy and more comprehensive on the EOS 7D Mark II. Not only can the EOS 7D Mark II record at multiple resolutions, frame rates and formats (including MP4), it has admirably smooth focus transitions thanks to Canon's amazing Dual Pixel CMOS AF, Movie Servo AF and range of STM lenses.

Full HD 60p Video Recording

The EOS 7D Mark II delivers refined and detailed EOS movie image quality with Full HD 60p (59.94 fps NTSC), and even 50.00 fps (PAL), recording at ISO values up to 16000 (Dual Pixel CMOS AF is not available when shooting at 60p). At these frame rates, even a fast-moving subject looks looks smooth in HD.

Multiple Input/Output Options

The EOS 7D Mark II can shoot Full HD and can send uncompressed NTSC, PAL and 24p footage out directly via its included HDMI port. HDMI output makes it possible to monitor images on a large display or save image data to an external recorder. Thanks to an audio output function, video and sound can be recorded together to a single recorder. The EOS 7D Mark II also has dedicated microphone and headphone jacks for professional sound recording and monitoring. It even has dual card slots for CF and SD cards, offering many options and unlimited recording times with automatic switching between recording media.

Movie Servo AF with Customization

Taking advantage of its Dual Pixel CMOS AF capabilities, the EOS 7D Mark II has a sophisticated and customizable Movie Servo AF system. Not only can AF points be defined, but AF speed and tracking intervals can also be specified and tailored to the subject's actions for continuous, smooth focus transitions. The ability to control so many AF parameters makes it possible to capture a higher caliber of video when using the EOS 7D Mark II.

5 out of 5 stars   Canon EOS 7D Mark ii

Review submitted for Canon EOS 7D Mark II 20.2MP HD 1080p Digital SLR Camera - Body Only (CNEOS7DM2)

Pros: Bought this camera to replace an EOS 20D (which still takes great pictures). Needed the faster camera for wildlife photos in Alaska and the Yukon. Have had the camera since Christmas 2015 and so far the test photos have been far superior to those of the 20D and the 70D. Like the faster video capability.
Cons: None so far - although WiFi would have been nice.
Other Comments: BuyDig is a great place to get good prices, fast service and a wide choice of items.

4 out of 5 stars   Dirt in Shutter
By Ding (Philippines) February 10, 2014
Review submitted for Canon EOS 7D 18 MP Digital SLR with 28-135 Lens (CNEOS7D28135)
Verified Reviewer
Pros: Fast shutter, great resolution. Overall excellent camera. I shoot wildlife, mostly birds, so I need a reliable and fast shooting camera with minimal noise levels at high ISOs. I moved from a Fuji Finepix, to a Canon 350D, 40D, and this. Very happy with it.
Cons: On first trip, went to Nairobi to shoot some safari. After a few shots, shutter would not fire continuous shots. It would lock up. Only way to fire another shot was to press something else before shooting. Managed to eke through the trip. Canon service center solved it by cleaning the shutter. Unfortunately, because I was in a different country, warranty was not valid so I had to pay for the cleaning. Was sure I did not subject the camera to excessive dust as I was in an open-roof Safari van. Did not go crawling around the jungle. Also, this camera is supposed to be, at least, mildly resistant to dust.
Other Comments: I wish Canon would continue to keep the Compact Flash for pro-cameras.

5 out of 5 stars   We Upgraded to this Outstanding Camera
By Pamela James Photography (Ventura, CA) March 07, 2012
Review submitted for Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-inch LCD (Body Only) (CNEOS7D)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Quiet, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Easy To Use, Large Clear LCD
Cons:
Other Comments: We at Pamela James Photography upgraded from a Canon 40D and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience with the 5D so far. It's GREAT! Our photos were good before but now they are even better. We can hardly beleive the improvement. Color is more vibrant, taking photos in low light is easier than ever, and the camera operates better than expected in all areas. We are not concerned about the video as we have our own video cams.

5 out of 5 stars   Does it all - and then some more
By Mike (Seattle) January 18, 2012
Review submitted for Canon EOS 7D w/ 18-135mm and 70-300mm Lenses and Case - Instant Rebate Bundle (E1CNEOS7D18135)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Great Zoom, Good Battery Life, Great Resolution, Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD, Fast Shutter Speed
Cons:
Other Comments: First I am not a professional photographer. So don't expect a professional review. There are plenty of those on the web. I take pictures for fun. But that doesn't mean I don't care about good pictures. I have owned SLRs Nikon and Canon. I have used Pentax, Sony and others. I purchased the Canon 7D camera as an upgrade from my Canon G9 Powershot and VHS movie recorder. It is hard to carry two large cameras around so the G9-VHS was a good compromise combination for me. But time pushed on and replacing the VHS camera is a no brainer. I just didn't care for any of the handicams. I was hopeful the 7D would fill both niches and so far it has done so nicely. I was photographing a cityscape from 3 miles away through a light haze. The photos came out crystal clear and vivid. Both wide angle and zoom. In a photo I could actually see the stars on an American flag on top of one of the buildings from three miles away. The flag was not visible with the naked eye. Cropping down I came out with a good picture of the flag. Very impressive, thank you 18 megapixels. After a couple of thousand pictures I can say 'Truly Amazing'. This camera and lens combination is far better than I expected in this price range. The 18-135mm and 70-300mm lenses provide a total focal range equivalent to about 29mm to 480mm with very crisp clear pictures. For me that is one walk around lens and one tripod. I am having fun learning to use the myriad of features available on this camera. The 7D is no light weight. It has plenty of bulk to hold on to and I like that. It feels solid in my hand. If I need to use a small pocket size camera I still have my G9. After being caught in the Seattle drizzel on several occasions the 7D's weather resistance and textured grip are very much appriciated. Also Beach Camera was great. No BS just good service and fast free shipping. They didn't try to upsell me with a bunch of stuff I didn't need or want. There is nothing like a poor vendor to spoil an otherwise good experience. The experience here has been a good one all around.
