The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR is a high-power zoom lens with a focal length of 18-300 mm and a zoom ratio of 16.7x, allowing a wide variety of shots from wide-angle to super telephoto with just one lens. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR joins the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II and the AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR to enhance the high-power zoom lens lineup. In addition to achieving a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:3.2x and the f/5.6 maximum aperture at the maximum telephoto position, it also has built-in vibration reduction (VR II), offering camera shake compensation equivalent to a shutter speed increase of approximately four steps to effectively reduce camera shake for easy telephoto shooting. By incorporating ED and aspherical lens elements, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR offers superior optical performance through an optical system optimized for D-SLR cameras.

Product Details:

  • Ultra high-power approx. 16.7x zoom lens covering 18-300mm focal range
  • Maximum reproduction ratio of 1/3.2x - the highest class among high-power zoom lenses with DX format
  • Two focus modes are available - M/A (autofocus with manual override) and M (manual focus)
  • Built-in Vibration Reduction (VRII) provides the equivalent of a shutter speed approximately four stops faster

5 out of 5 stars   Most impressively useable All-N-One zoom lens.
By Garromas58 on June 12, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR - 2196 - FACTORY REFURBISHED (NK18300VRRB)
Pros: Very effective auto-focus with smooth manual override. Very sharp imagery across the board. Very versatile framing from any position, any distance. Size and weight are unnoticeable and insignificant.
Cons: Size and weight ARE intimidating when first picked up and mounted on camera. Lens shadowing with Pop-up when zoomed.
Other Comments: This lens is incredible. Find a subject, frame it, focus and shoot. I have found literally nothing to complain about and nothing this lens can't do. I go on lengthy walk-a-bouts and don't notice or think about it hanging off the front of my camera, just point-n-shoot. If you are a serious enthusiast who believes in a versatile quality tool that will serve any need, just give it a try. I use a Nikon D5100 and I'm an old timer to photography. I found it difficult to justify a lens that cost twice as much as the body. But, in the last few weeks of using it, the lens has proved worth every dollar.

5 out of 5 stars   perfect all-in-one
By NFDDS on June 03, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Zoom Lens - 2196 (NK18300VR)
Pros: Love this lens! Works with my entry level D3100 to make both close up and zoom pictures look like they were taken by a professional. It's heavy, but I only need to carry the one lens for everyday use. Takes awesome close ups and action shots of kids playing sports from afar. The uv lens cover is a must-large lens makes for more surface area to scratch! Great price with bonus gifts and shipping was fast.
Cons: Heavy, but so are two lenses and a bag.

4 out of 5 stars   The Latest Best Nikon Zoom Lens.
By Harvey on July 21, 2013

Review submitted for Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Zoom Lens - 2196 (NK18300VR)
Pros: Improved Vr, Maximum Focal Length, Little Or No Zoom Creep, Relatively fast
Cons: Price, a bit heavy
Other Comments: Nice improvement over the 18 - 200 mm zoom. Heavier, but not unwieldy. No loss in lens speed from the 18 - 200 mm zoom. The VR feature helps keep a sharp image at the maximum focal length. If you can only have one lens, this is the one to have.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product
