DMC-FX07 (Silver) Lumix 7.2 megapixel Digital Camera

The new LUMIX 7.2-megapixel DMC-FX07 digital still camera is the world's first to feature Intelligent ISO Control (IIC) to correct image blurriness caused by movement of the subject matter. The camera features Panasonic's exclusive MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology which reduces blurry photos caused by unsteady hands. The FX07 superior lens quality in a compact camera with a 28mm wide angle f/2.8 LEICA DC lens with 3.6x optical zoom (equivalent to 28mm to 102mm on a 35mm film camera) will allow users to enjoy the benefit of a wide angle lens when shooting indoor group portraits, expansive landscapes, or architectural scenes.

The FX07 features a  2.5-inch LCD and features multiple scene modes that make it simple to capture great images in all kinds of shooting conditions, such as night portrait, party, food, sports, and the ever popular Baby Mode, which lets the user set a birth date for a child and automatically capture the age each time a picture is taken.

Features

28mm Wide- Angl LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT Lens
The 7.2-megapixel LUMIX DMC-FX07 has a 28mm wide angle 3.6x optical zoom f/2.8 LEICA DC lens housed in a compact body, achieved thanks to the incorporation of a Extra High Refractive Index Aspherical Lens(EA Lens). This wide angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and sceneries with dynamic width and rich perspective. The lens part comprises of a LEICA DC lens of seven elements in six groups, incorporating four aspherical lenses to generate high optical performance while preserving the compactness of the unit. The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens inherits both its name and its outstanding quality from the LEICA ELMARIT lens, renowned in the film camera world for its superb performance and compact size.

3.6x Optical Zoom with 7.2-Megapixel Resolution
The DMC-FX07 is equipped with a 3.6x optical zoom lens (equivalent to a 28mm to 102mm zoom on a 35mm film camera). A special function that uses the center part of the CCD also lets you extend the 3.6x zoom ratio to 5.5x at 3-megapixel resolution with minimal deterioration. Adding the Extended Optical Zoom to the 4x digital zoom extend the total zooming power to a maximum of 21.9x. With this powerful zooming function, you can easily capture and magnify distant subjects.

Compact and Light Weight Body
The DMC-FX07 is a remarkably stylish and compact camera. Its cool design and light weight make it easy to take it with you everywhere you go, for even more photographic fun.

MEGA O.I.S. - The New Standard in Digital Camera Performance
Taking advantage of its outstanding lens technology, Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against the major cause of blurred images. It compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. It is now featured on the entire LUMIX range, and is highly popular with users around the world. Even slight hand-shake movement is accurately detected by a sampling frequency of 4,000 times per second, and compensated to produce sharp, clear images.

Intelligent ISO Control for Preventing Blurry Shots Caused by Subject Movements New Feature!
The movement of the subject, the other major cause of blurred images, is suppressed by the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III with the Intelligent ISO Control (I.I.C.). The world's first incorporation of this I.I.C. allows the automatic adjustment of the suitable ISO setting and shutter speed that best suits the situation by analyzing the speed of subject movement. If the subject is moving, the ISO setting would automatically rise to allow high shutter speed. On the other hand, if the subject is still and no movement is detected, you can take beautiful natural images with a low ISO setting.

High Image Quality - Recording up to ISO 1250 in Full Resolution
The DMC-FX07 adopts the Venus Engine III to realize high sensitivity recording at max. ISO 1250 at full resolution. The noise reduction system is greatly improved by removing noise at the processing stages in series. First, critical noise is roughly undraped and the chromatic noise and the luminance noise are separated to respectively go through the supplemental noise reduction process so that the remaining noise is appropriately minimized.

Super-Fast Shutter Response

Panasonic slashed the release time lag to 0.005 second minimum by increasing both the circuit speed itself and the point at which the shutter release signal is detected. We also shortened the shutter interval to around 0.5 second (minimum)*. These improvements help make LUMIX an extremely quick, responsive camera that's a pleasure to use.

MEGA BURST Consecutive Shooting
With the DMC-FX07, you can snap off consecutive shooting at 3 frames or 2 frames per second with full resolution. The Unlimited Consecutive Shooting function lets you keep on shooting until the memory card or the built-in memory is full. You can take a series of shots, then choose the one you like best and delete the rest.

7.38 Mega Total Pixels CCD
The DMC-FX07 images are extremely beautiful even when enlarged. The CCDs used in LUMIX models also have outstanding light-collecting efficiency that gives them even greater image-rendering capabilities than the specifications suggest.

High Angle LCD Mode for Easy Viewing
The High Angle Mode makes the display extremely easy to view from bottom angle, for example, when taking photos raising a hand upward to shoot the subject over the crowd.

Power LCD
You probably know how difficult it is to see an LCD image on a sunny day. When that happens with the DMC-FX07, all you have to do is hold the DISPLAY/LCD button down a little longer and then select Power LCD mode from the screen. The LCD backlight becomes about 1.4 times brighter to produce clear, easy-to-see images even in bright sunlight.

Bright LCD Shows Even Dark Scenes Clearly
The bright LCD is easy to see when taking photos. The pixel-mixed readout method is used to automatically increase the brightness level of live images according to the level of ambient darkness. This allows bright, easy framing of scenes that would normally be too dark to see.

9/25 Multi Display & Calendar Display
The large LCD allows the display of images even in tiny thumbnail size. Playback of 9 and 25 is possible on a multi-split screen in addition to the normal 1 frame playback. This helps you to search for the image you want out of a number of images stored on the SD/SDHC Memory Card, even if the images are in bulk. The DMC-FX07 also features the Calendar Display. It shows the day that each shot was taken, which makes it easy to group and play back all of the shots taken on a particular day.

Slideshow with Transition Effects New Feature!
The bright LCD is easy to see when taking photos. The pixel-mixed readout method is used to automatically increase the brightness level of live images according to the level of ambient darkness. This allows bright, easy framing of scenes that would normally be too dark to see

Useful Features:

  • Faster AF: The various AF mode can be selected according to the shooting environment and the position of the subject. In the 1-point normal speed AF, the AF time is reduced by one third of the time compared to the DMC-FX01, to provide a quick and smooth AF without screen-freeze.

  • AF Distance Metering: Choose from five modes for perfect auto focusing.
9-point AF: For general shooting conditions. This mode gives you a sharp focus for a variety of picture compositions.
