Providing a "normal" 46.2 Degree field of view on Full Frame (FX) sensor cameras, it?s perfect for everyday photography. With APS-C sensor cameras, it provides a 75mm focal length equivalent (30.8 Degree field of view) and with Canon APS-C sensor cameras an 80mm focal length equivalent (29.0 Degree field of view) which is perfect for portraits. Lens construction consists of nine high performance glass lens elements, with special anti-reflective Ultra Multi-Coating, arranged in six groups including one Aspherical and one Hybrid-Aspherical lens element. All combine to ensure outstanding resolution, sharpness and contrast while reducing ghosting and flare in all lighting conditions. Focusing using the textured rubberized focusing ring is precise, silky smooth and quiet, while its internal focusing (IF) mechanism prevents both changes in length and rotation for easier use of polarizing and other orientation sensitive filters.
