In a world where movies, music, and photos take up enormous chunks of hard drive space, it's good to have the Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Desktop Drive for Mac. These large-capacity drives make organizing and backing up your vast libraries of digital content much easier, and less time consuming.

Like the Backup Plus portable drives in this series, these drives also help you maintain control over your social network photos with one-touch sending/receiving of photos to your favorite social media sites. But the added storage of these giant drives (up to 4TB) makes these even more useful - store all of your music, movies, and content in one central place. The small form factor allows you to keep your desk uncluttered while granting you a closetful of storage. 

All Seagate Backup Plus drives come pre-installed with the Seagate Dashboard on the drive to help you configure your drive for your needs. You can choose from scheduled backups to continuous backups, ensuring that your data is safe and sound. 

The Mac versions in this line are Mac OS and Time Machine ready, with the option of downloading the HFS+ driver to make the drives perfectly compatible between Mac and PC systems. The Mac versions feature FireWire 800/USB 2.0 connectivity, and even include the cables. The Seagate Backup Plus Desktop for Mac series can also have its interface upgraded to Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 via optional adapters (sold separately).

The PC versions are Windows-ready right from the box, but you can easily install the pre-loaded NTFS driver for Mac, and use the drive interchangeably between PC and Mac computers without reformatting the drive. The PC versions use the speedy USB 3.0 as their interface. You can always upgrade the interface to FireWire 800 or Thunderbolt with an add-on adapter (sold separately).

Protect
The Seagate Backup Plus portable drive simplifies backup for consumers who want toprotect their entire digital life locally, in the cloud or from social networks. Via the Seagate Dashboard, use the Protect function to set up a one-click plan or customize your scheduled local backup.
Save
With the Save feature, user-generated content can be backed up from your favorite socialnetworks. Capture a photo, post it on a social networking site and let the Seagate Dashboard automatically back up any content posted. Even if the file gets accidentally deleted from the device, another copy can be waiting.
Share
The Share feature allows multiple files to be uploaded to social networks at once fromyour computer. The days of uploading individual files without creating a new album aregone - simply select files to upload, choose where to post them and even add comments.
